HT Canada is delighted to be working in partnership with the Mandarin teaching experts of our HT Lab in Taiwan. Experienced specialist instructors from Taipei (native-Mandarin speakers, with Media, Communications & Performing Arts background) will teach the curriculum in a uniquely fun way you have never experienced before!

With the expansion of HT in our 18th year, the need for talents with language skills soars in our APAC markets. HT will launch a Teach Taiwan Project to bring 20-50 passionate people who want to expand their career options within the next 2 years!

This curriculum, consisting of 4 courses, is perfect for those interested in learning Asia's most widely spoken language, enhancing knowledge of Taiwanese culture, preparing for pleasure or business travel, and increasing career opportunities!

Foundation in conversational Mandarin & written Chinese characters (with Pin-Yin);

Blended with media, comms & performing arts pedagogy to facilitate a fun learning process;

Insights into modern Taiwan culture, traditions & etiquette by native speakers.


Learners progress through each course with a minimum 80% attendance and pass the final assessment will unlock the HT Award of Achievement with the priority to apply for HT's Teach Taiwan Certificate Program in coming 2 years to expand your career options! 


This is suitable for learners who have little to no knowledge in Mandarin. Topics like Pronunciation System, essential vocabularies, sentence structures and grammar are covered. The focus of this course is on conversational skills. At the end of this course, learners can introduce themselves and others with names, nationalities, jobs, families, also describe time, location and talk about daily life etc.

Beginner level 2 will cover more vocabulary and sentence structures to improve conversational skills. Content included birthdays, colours, shopping, food ordering, simple phone calls, travel, asking for/offering help etc.

Intermediate level 1 is designed to enhance learners' speaking and listening skills. Topics such as activities, weather, conveying intentions and plans, health and body, compliments and well-wishing etc will be included. 

Intermediate level 2 will upgrade learners' ability in describing and initiating conversations related to sports and leisure activities, interests and hobbies, festivals and vacations, characters, social life, passing on messages etc. 


​Registrations for Beginner Level 1 are accepted at any time. For other levels, you are assessed informally on your demonstrated oral abilities and on written assignments. If you are unsure what level you are at or for any enquiries, please feel free to email us below.
