Harmony Tree International Speech Festival (HTISF) is a global creative ecosystem where every young voice holds a Golden Ticket—an invitation to discover confidence, creativity, and the power to inspire.

More than an international speech and drama festival, HTISF offers students aged 4–18 meaningful opportunities to develop communication skills, gain international recognition, and connect through creative exchange.

1st Round Syllabus

VERSE SPEAKING

Guidelines & Pieces

- Choose one from the two set pieces

- Piece must be performed from memory, without holding the script.

- The title and the author of the piece have to be announced.

- No hand props or costumes. 

- Shall perform while standing up with good posture.

PROSE READING

Guidelines & Pieces

- One set piece provided per age group.

- Piece shall be held in hand(s) and read from. No memorized presentation.

- The title and the author of the piece have to be announced.

- No hand props or costumes. 

- Shall perform while standing up with good posture.

Remarks:

The Prose Reading syllabus has been refined as part of an updated        instructional design approach to support English reading comprehension. Academic standards and assessment framework remain unchanged.

PUBLIC SPEAKING

Guidelines & Pieces

- Choose one from the two set topics.

- Must write and present an original script by the Contestant.

- The chosen topic has to be announced.

- Speech exceeding time limit will be cut short. Cue cards optional.

- Shall perform while standing up with good posture.

MONOLOGUE

Guidelines & Pieces

- Choose one from the two set pieces.

- Piece must be performed from memory, without holding the script.

- The title, author of the piece and character played have to be announced.

- Shall not exceed the time limit.

- Blocking shall be designed and developed.

- Simple set (ie 1 table, 2 chairs) allowed. Bulky items shall be avoided.

DRAMATIC DUOLOGUE

Guidelines & Pieces

- Choose one from the two set pieces.

- Both contestants must perform in the same space simultaneously.

- Piece can be chosen based on interest & ability, regardless of gender.

- Piece must be performed from memory, without holding the script.

- The title, author and each character played have to be announced.

- Shall not exceed the time limit.

- Blocking shall be designed and developed.

- Simple set (ie 1 table, 2 chairs) allowed. Bulky items shall be avoided.

Every participant who completes the First Round receives an official HTISF certificate, awarded at Distinction, Merit, or Pass levels in recognition of their achievement.

Recognized by 100+ schools worldwide, HTISF credentials add meaningful value to academic and creative portfolios.

Outstanding Grand Final participants may also receive Top 5 Awards, commemorative pennants, and consideration for the HTISF Global Distinction Scholarship.

The HTISF Excellence Awards honour outstanding schools, educators, and Education Partners who play an important role in inspiring the next generation through creative education and communication.

These awards celebrate the dedication, passion, and support that help young voices thrive throughout the HTISF journey.
